NEW PODCAST: ASAE & The Center Annual Meeting Preview

2. Jeff is brimming with enthusiasm about the ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership Annual Meeting and is looking forward to heading off to Nashville tomorrow.
3. Jeff has been interviewed by Shel Holtz and Neville Hobson on the For Immediate Release podcast.  The 55-minute interview can be found on this page.
4. Jeff teases listeners to keep listening for a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT from Associations Unorthodox in September.  (No clues, no hints...just be patient!)

Jeff shares what he is looking for at the Annual Meeting:  1) the extent to which ASAE & The Center are more seamlessly integrated after a year, 2) what an administrivia-free general session looks like and what messages have been deemed sufficiently important to be delivered from the stage, 3) the new ASAE & The Center brand promise, logo etc., a possible (?) Associations Now cover mock-up and other new stuff, 4) the results of ASAE Board vote on the Membership Task Force recommendations.  (Jeff also mentions that the XtremeASAE Blog volunteer bloggers will be covering the Malcolm Gladwell general session extensively based on a poll run on the blog.)
6. Jeff offers advice to learner/leaders on how to maximize the learning experience:  1) start by giving yourself permission to ask the BIG QUESTION (check out posts by XtremeASAE Bloggers Shawn Lea and Kevin Holland), 2) look for the ORIGINAL IDEA and forget about "best practices" [click here, here and here for Jeff's recent rants against best practices] and 3) do not dismiss the IMPRACTICAL SUGGESTION too quickly.
